Welcome!

You’ve stumbled upon the ramblings of a recovering Database Engineer turned Site Reliability Engineer. The intent of this site is to document the trials, tribulations, learnings, and topics that interest me in the world of SRE. This team was formed about two years ago, and I was invited to join. Admittedly, leaving my 8 years of comfort in Oracle Databases has been challenging, and very rewarding. We are still on the ground floor, and with time and effort, we continue to move the IT organization towards better observability.

So, what can you expect to find on this site? Realistically, anything. This serves as a space for me to share my ideas, thoughts, and discuss general topics that interest me, as well as what I’ve learned. If you’ve stumbled upon this page, hopefully you found something helpful. My major interests lie within the sphere of socio-technical systems, focusing on understanding the reasons decisions are made by investigating the individuals, teams, and/or organizations responsible for making them.

That said, the landscape for topics SREs care about is vast, and my curiosity is just as limitless. At the end of the day, I’m on a journey and hope that something I say can help someone at some point down the line.
